Clinical Supervision
Whether you are still finding your footing or refining an established practice, supervision offers a space to think more deeply about your work and stay steady in the midst of its demands. I offer clinical supervision for students in training programmes, counsellors and psychologists working towards registration, as well as consultation for experienced practitioners.
Scope of Practice
My clinical experience is primarily in individual therapy with adults aged 18–65. I have familiarity with a range of therapeutic modalities, and most often draw on the following approaches:
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
-
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
My supervision is focused on individual therapy, and I may not be the best fit for work that is primarily centred on couples, families, groups, or certain specialised populations.
How We Work Together
I take a reflective approach to supervision, shaped by my own experience of how this way of working has supported my development as a therapist.
Rather than focusing solely on offering solutions or techniques, we take time to think more deeply about your work, such as how you are understanding the client, what is happening within the therapeutic relationship, and your own responses within it.
Over time, this can help to build a sense of clarity and confidence in your work, supporting you to find your own way of practising rather than feeling that you need to get it “right.”
For this kind of work to be most helpful, it can be useful if you are able to:
-
Bring material to supervision
-
Speak openly about challenges or uncertainties
-
Engage in reflection on both the clinical work and your own responses
-
Remain open to feedback and different perspectives
