Hi!

Tina Tin
Clinical Psychologist
Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own, or if putting your inner world into words doesn’t come easily. I understand how daunting this can feel, including from my own experience. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin.

I’m a clinical psychologist with close to two decades of experience working with individuals across a wide range of settings. More importantly, I try to be the kind of therapist I would have wanted to meet myself, and that is someone who is patient, approachable, and easy to talk to, where even the more difficult or private parts of your experience can be shared without fear of judgment. Having experienced social anxiety myself, I know how hard it can be to open up to another person. Because of this, I strive to create a space that feels safe, unhurried, and genuinely collaborative. This is the spirit behind Gentle Psychology.

My Approach
I draw from a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Rather than applying any one method rigidly, I integrate these approaches depending on what feels most helpful, be it developing practical strategies, making sense of patterns, or gently working through deeper emotional experiences.

With this in mind, I tend to work best with individuals who are open to reflecting on their own patterns and engaging in a collaborative process of understanding and change.
Areas I Work With
I have a particular interest in working with the following areas:

-
Social anxiety
-
Phobias
-
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (especially less visible forms of OCD)
-
Dissociation
-
Gaming addiction and problematic gaming
-
Navigating life as an introverted person
-
Sexual concerns (particularly for women)
-
Career uncertainty and direction
If your concerns aren’t reflected here, you’re still welcome to reach out and we can explore together if I might be the right person to support you.

Professional Background
I have worked as a clinical psychologist since 2009 across both public and institutional settings in Singapore.
Holding Complexity with Care
I began my career at the Institute of Mental Health, where I provided psychotherapy to individuals with a wide range of mental health concerns, including complex cases across both inpatient and outpatient settings. My work there also involved psychological assessments, group therapy, and contributions to public mental health education. I was involved in forensic work as well, including assessments in prison settings and providing expert testimony in court.
Supporting Young Adults Through Change
I later joined the Singapore Armed Forces, where I worked closely with military personnel, providing therapy and psychological assessments, and supporting their adjustment to the demands of service. In addition to clinical work, I developed and delivered training programmes for leaders and mental health professionals, and was involved in research on innovative therapy interventions.
